winter might mean less finds
but it certainly inspires most in maine to carve all through the
winter, and you can carve rubber or you can carve the snow if you ride...

have to worry about
snow! Letterboxes
(and geocaches) are
much easier to find
without snakes, ticks,
other biting insects
and less green stuff
blocking the way! You
wouldn't believe the
vines we sometimes
have to make our way
through!

Oh yes! That reminds me of the time I went out letterboxing for Wild River's new box in Glastonbury last year right after it was posted. I saw all the tracks and could see Krusty Krab's too. It was a parade in and of itself! I could see the tracks to all of the "potential" spots for planting - my imagination of all the chatter and fun of planting a letterbox - plus WR's actual signature in the snow!

I LIVE for snow days off from school! I also get A LOT of carving
done in the winter. This time of year, when it gets dark earlier is
when I get about 95% of my carving done (I sometimes carve stamps
during the other parts of the year when I need something specific last
minute). Spring, I plant, Summer and Fall is usually for finding!
